Visiting Your Student

Many visitors to Syracuse University comment on the beauty of the campus. From the venerable Hall of Languages to the 50,000 seat Carrier Dome, Syracuse University's campus comprises a wide variety of distinct architectural styles and artwork. We invite you to see for yourself!

The City of Syracuse is home to approximately 145,000 people. The greater Syracuse area is home to over 700,000 people.  Located in Central New York, the City is in close proximity to the Finger Lakes, Lake Ontario, the Thousand Islands, and within an easy drive of upstate New York locations such as Skaneateles, Ithaca, and Cooperstown.  Rochester, Albany, and Buffalo are easily accessible via the New York State Thruway (I-90) and many major metropolitan areas in the United States and Canada are within a 5-6 hour drive.

General Directions
to Campus

New York State Thruway (Interstate 90) travelers: Take Thruway exit 36 (Interstate 81) and proceed south, then exit at Adams St. (Exit 18).

I-81 northbound and southbound travelers: Exit at Adams St. (Exit 18).

Syracuse Hancock International Airport travelers: Car rental service is available at the airport (please reserve two weeks in advance). Proceed south on I-81 and Exit at Adams St. (Exit 18).

Taxi service from the airport to campus costs approximately $30 one way.
